Education on Coco beach
The primary school "Escuelita el Coco" was founded in 1999 by Sigmund Kripp as part of the alternative holiday park Parque Marítimo el Coco. The reason was the necessity to provide the families within and around the parque with development possibilities. Besides securing the economical situation of the families, effective development means above all education.

The school is approved as a public school, as we fulfill all requirements, but the salaries and all other costs have to be paid for privately.

History
In the beginning there was just a handful of children in the rancho of the parque, still without books or blackboard, but with the teacher Luis Augusto Toval. A faithful lot of donators facilitated the construction of a schoolhouse. Thereafter the number of pupils grew, along with the number of donors, among whom Nicaraguan people can be found as well as foreign guests and friends. Thus we now have two schoolhouses as well as two small ranchos, which are primarily used for creative work.

Current situation

Currently about 12 pupils of primary and 15 of computation attend the school "Escuelita el Coco". The teacher Luis Augusto Toval servant care for them, who have at their disposal our Montessori teaching materials as well as computers, books, material for experiments, a small workshop, a painting area and much more.

Our school is open to all who want to learn, and of course the teachers' training takes place there.
